Answers, straight from the wheel.
How long does sharpening take?
+
Most kitchen knives are 5–15 minutes while you wait. Japanese single-bevel work and restoration take longer — usually same-day or next-day.
Do I need an appointment?
+
No — walk in any time during business hours. For 6+ knives or shear bundles, calling ahead helps us plan your slot.
Will you ruin my expensive Japanese knife?
+
We specialize in Japanese steel. We use water-stone progression and measure your blade's existing angle before any work. Single-bevel knives are sharpened in the traditional manner — we do not generic-angle them on a chain wheel.
What if my knife is chipped or damaged?
+
We do full restoration — chip repair, rust removal, tip rebuild, even broken bolster repair. Bring it in for a free quote.
Do you sharpen serrated knives?
+
Yes. Serrated bread knives are $8 and take about 10 minutes.
Do you sharpen scissors and shears?
+
Yes — salon shears, groomer shears, kitchen shears, even pinking shears. Groomers get a bundle rate (8 shears for $80).
Can my restaurant set up a recurring account?
+
Yes. We offer scheduled pickup and delivery throughout the Atlanta metro, with net-30 invoicing and COI on request. See the Commercial page.
Do you ship out of state?
+
Yes — our mail-in service handles knife sharpening from anywhere in the lower 48. We provide the prepaid label.
Do you offer gift certificates?
+
Yes. Ask at the shop or call. A sharpening gift card is the best present a serious home cook will get all year.
Why is the shop sometimes closed during posted hours?
+
We run a commercial delivery route mid-day Monday–Friday and are usually back by 1pm. The live status indicator at the top of every page shows exactly where we are. If you make a trip, check it first.
